Thiézac/Le LIoran
From Thiézac, the path rises in a rocky area called "Le Pas des rocs" to join the GR400, at a place called Le Clou. After a climb through the undergrowth, you reach the mountain pastures and burons of Puy de la Poche (extraordinary view over the Cère valley), before following the ridge towards Elancèze (at the pass below Elancèze, try the ascent to the summit to enjoy the superb panorama over the Jordanne valley - 1h return):
Descend to the Col du Perthus through a beautiful beech forest, where 2 ancient wolf traps bear witness to the wolf's presence until the early 20th century.
From the Col du Perthus, follow the GR 400 towards Puy Griou. At the foot of this emblematic summit, if you're not prone to vertigo, you can attempt the ascent (45 min return - unmarked).

Le Lioran/Thiézac
After reaching the Col de Rombière, you switch here to the upper Cère valley before reaching the resort of Le Lioran.
Last ascent to reach the artificial lake (reservoir for snow guns) under the Cantal lead.
The descent to Thiézac is dotted with small heritage features: Les Gardes, the highest hamlet in the Cère valley, with its typical houses; Niervèze and its thatched/oven/mill houses...
Finally, you'll wander through the scree of the Casteltinet chaos and pass through the "Lion Gate" before reaching the village of Thiézac.
