On the heights, you'll discover chestnut and oak trees, the Château de Messilhac, the Monts du Cantal... This short stroll takes you to Escoubiac, a charming hamlet with a singular architecture, essentially devoted to chestnut farming until the 19th century. Admire the chestnut dryers, the famous "sécadous", in the heart of the hamlet!
This walk starts at the roadside, before the hamlet of Escoubiac, at the intersection of a farm track (limited parking space).
After a few metres on this farm track, take the path on the left which descends to reach the hamlet of Escoubiac.
Continue along the road for a short distance, then take a small path that skirts part of the hamlet.
Take the path on the left, which continues through the undergrowth and climbs back up to the track you took at the start.Marking : Marked in blueEquipments : Car park, Good plans : Distinctive architecture and yellow schist stones.
Secadous: small stone structures used to dry chestnuts until the 19th century.
