A varied walking trail in the heart of the River Cère valley through the pretty hamlet of Niervèze, a site of special geological interest and outstanding views along the way.
Departure from the hamlet of LaTour. You can leave your car in the parking lot and walk up the road towards Lagoutte. At the wash-house, take the track on your left, which descends slightly. After the last house, don't take the left-hand path, but go straight on. After approx. 100 m, take the path on the right, lined with low walls.
After the chicane, go straight on for a few metres, then turn right and cross the meadow. This takes you back to the path that runs around the mound and climbs up to a house. Take the road to the crossroads, cross the bridge, then follow the road for another 300m. At the hairpin bend, take the track on the right and follow it to pass under the railroad.
Pass under the railroad line and follow the gravel path up to the hamlet of Niervèze.
Take time to visit the hamlet, then take the path by the oven down through the meadow to the mill.
At the mill, take a refreshing break before continuing on the path that joins the road! Follow the road to Lafon.
Once below the Gîte de Lafon, take the path to the left towards the waterfall, then continue into the beech forest at the foot of the Chaos de Casteltinet. You'll come to the Lion Gate.
